Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Nod runs posture detection entirely on your device and keeps only the minimum data needed to function. This policy is written to be specific about what we collect — and what we never do.

Last updated: April 27, 2026

1. Provider

Nod (the "App") is provided by Gigaptera ("we", "us"). This policy describes how the App handles information about you.

2. Information processed on your device

The App processes the following on your iPhone, only as needed for posture detection and display:

  • Head and device orientation read from AirPods and iPhone motion sensors
  • Walking / stationary activity classification from CoreMotion
  • Your in-app settings (sensitivity, cooldown, alert types, quiet hours, etc.)
  • Timestamps and counts of alerts
  • App Store subscription entitlement status (read via StoreKit)

3. Information we do not collect

The App does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Photos or camera frames
  • Audio recordings from the microphone
  • Location
  • Contacts, calendar, or HealthKit data
  • Your name or email address (unless you submit it through the contact form)

4. On-device processing

Posture detection, alert evaluation, and history are computed and stored entirely on your iPhone. None of this data is sent to our servers or to any third-party server.

5. Third-party services

The App relies on the following Apple services, governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy:

  • App Store / StoreKit, for subscription purchase, restore, and entitlement
  • UNUserNotificationCenter, for delivering local notifications
  • CMHeadphoneMotionManager / CMMotionActivityManager, for motion data

6. Retention and deletion

On-device measurements remain on your iPhone until you delete them. Open the App's settings and tap "Delete measurement data" to erase all measurement and alert history. Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age threshold under your local law).

8. Your rights

Because the App does not transmit personal data off your device, the most direct way to exercise data rights is to delete data from within the App or uninstall it. For any additional request, contact us via the form below.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
